Laser Skin Care

Laser treatment in skin care is provides an innovative combination of cosmetic laser surgery techniques for the treatment of various skin complaints. The laser process involves a carbondioxide or CO2 laser which vaporizes the uppermost skin layers, promoting new skin formation. The lasers are precise beams which are directed onto different parts of the skin, focusing on the damaged areas. Laser skin treatments are often used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes and mouth. They are also effective for treating port wine stains, veins, spider veins and acne scars. This type of laser therapy is better known as Intense Pulsed Light Therapy or IPL.

Laser skin treatments involve different treatment procedures such as laser skin resurfacing, laser rejuvenation, fraxel laser treatment, cosmetic laser procedures and therapies and laser rosacea treatment.

To begin with, laser skin resurfacing is basically a surgery and requires local anaesthesia. The larger the area of skin being treated the longer it takes for laser treatment to be carried out. Recovery times also depend highly upon the intensity of penetration of laser used. This is basically a cosmetic laser procedure, however, and is best for treating age spots, sun damage, warts and other facial skin problems.

Laser treatment procedures can also be used for treating rosacea. Laser rosacea treatment is conducted with the help of a surgery that removes damaged skin and intense scarring. Laser skin resurfacing can be used in this case for treatment.

Laser rejuvenation treatment procedures are new and innovative techniques. These procedures use lasers to diminish scars, keloid scars, birth marks, acne blemishes and can also be used for wart removal. Laser rejuvenation can also be used for removing tattoos and to help in reducing facial redness, open pores, skin roughness, wrinkles and freckles, to improve the overall beauty of the skin. Laser rejuvenation also helps in tightening the laxity of the skin and these procedures produce faster results and are the most prominent procedures of laser therapy.

Fraxel laser is a different form of treatment from other laser rejuvenation treatments using CO2 or the erbium. As Fraxel laser is a non-invasive procedure, there are few, if any after effects. The major difference is that this isn’t a single session procedure; multiple sessions are needed for the completion of this procedure.

Laser skin care has become an integral part of dermatology today and is probably the most effective method of treating various skin and facial problems. Laser therapies and treatments have gained immense popularity in the past few years and these therapies have brought about a revolution in treatment of skin conditions and skin beautification. From regular acne and pimples to anti-aging issues and a host of different skin problems, there are significant advantages in treatment through with the help of laser therapy.
